Florals & Prints.

Every time I open up to check out what's new on Saks now, I see this amazing image:

Erdem- Elisabeth Top & Erdem- Silk Voile Susie Skirt

Fendi- 2Jours Medium Mixed-Media Tote

So I set out to find some similar options... without the price tag.

at www.gormanshop.com.au the tree leopard print:

with:

ASOS Leather Scallop Edge Shopper- off asos.com

If you don't want to wear the printed skirt at printed top together, try one or the other with a plain colour you're comfortable wearing.

Preen Line Sonja Top In Floral & Animal Print- off asos.com. This would look great with a navy, black or even light blue a-line skirt.

Kate Spade New York- Jolie Silk Skirt off saksfifthavenue.com. This would be easily worn with either beige, yellow, black and white. The great thing about these skirts is that you can wear them in summer and in winter. I have about thirty printed skirts, most which I have bought and some of them which I made myself. I have a habit of wearing them with almost anything, including other prints, stripes and clashing colours. I'll never forget my sisters' mother in law commenting on the fact that I had a red skirt on and a pink coloured top... but I love it, and so does Preen (dress below almost sold out on asos.com)

Image 1 of Preen Line Kelly Dress Midi Colour Block Silk & Jersey

Marc by Marc Jacobs- Onyx Floral Silk Skirt off saksfifthavenue.com. This also comes in a dress, but sometimes a skirt is just so much more versatile. For those who don't want too much fuss- go with black or navy. For those who don't mind making a fuss- I'd go with some stripes, even another print. I actually like:

Sunshine & Happiness.

Happy Friday!!! We are getting closer to spring, so I thought the most appropriate colour should make you feel and think of sunshine! :-)

kate spade new york 'rainey' dress- a-line is a favourite of mine. this would look great with the kate spade black patent bow belt (below) and some cute black patent ballet flats.
kate spade new york ' thin bow' belt
both available off nordstom.com

ASOS LAGUNA Suede Ballet Flats with Metallic Block Heel. These are very cute and have just recently gone on sale- so get in while you can! You can never have too many ballet flats, right? ;-)
available off asos.com: http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2138808

Cacharel Mustard Belt- so fun and so pretty. I love bow belts and they are just so cute. If you're wearing a dress or a skirt, it will make all the difference.
available off asos.com: http://www.asos.com/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1837191

Kate Spade New York Women's Heather Flat. I love them- there really isn't much else to say. They're really sweet and can be dressed up nicely I think these would go really well with the Cacharel Belt above.

Kate Spade New York Belleville Plaid-Quinn Satchel. The tweed is a bit more of a winter fabric, but we are on different schedules to our New York friends here. Either way- it's a fantastic piece. The black patent detailing really works and this is why this little number made the list. Did I mention how much I love bows? Who would have guessed... :-)

Kate Spade New York Chambers Street-Carlyle Cross Body. Love the top handle- these darling lady bags are popping up everywhere. Marc by Marc Jacobs has a couple too- but the crocodile embossed patent yellow, well... it's just super cute!

David Aubrey- Sunpoints Necklace. I had to add this piece, I love the different shapes and colours of this necklace. It's handmade in the U.S.A- I know not everyone wears colour in the same way, so I would say those of you who wear a lot of black (don't worry I have those days too) this piece will really brighten your day.

Bettye Muller- Mantequilla Oxford Heels. The tassels!! These are amazing. If you can't be convinced with any of the above- surely these will do it. Has yellow suede ever looked so good?

Snakeskin!

Starting to see this more and more. Snakeskin is fantastic it's just one of those things you need to do minimally. Simple & not over accessorized.

Vince Camuto Snakeskin Print Blouse in Aztec Gold.
Available off nordstrom.com
This also comes in green, but I just love this colour! I'm thinking black jeans/pants/skirt (pencil) with black patent shoes and black patent handbag with minimal gold jewellery.

Elizabeth & James- Snake Nuri Pants
Available off ShopBop.com
Casual, comfortable and colourful!

Botkier- Valentina Shoulder Bag
Available off ShopBop.com
There is something about this bag. It has such a vintage feel to it and the gold detailing just makes it work. It's actually much bigger than I would have thought too.

Loeffler Randall Loafers - Babette
Available off Bloomingdales.com
White shirt, black jeans/pants (slim leg) and these shoes.

KORS Michael Kors Women's Danett Flat
Available off endless.com
These are available in a few colours and types of leather, but these pink ones are my favourite! If you're not a fan of wearing too much colour, it's great to start with shoes and accessories.

Michael Michael Kors Jet Set Tote in Burnt Orange
off endless.com
I love the jet set totes. They're really comfortable on the shoulder and a perfect size for everyday. I bought one for my mum in the monogram canvas last year and she loves using it on the weekends.

Monday Blues.

(above: http://unepetitevictoire.pourlavictoire.com/2012/05/freshly-cut/)

It's one of the hardest days of the week for most. So here are a few things to cheer you up! :-)

Milly- Calais Pleated Knit Dress
www.saksfifthavenue.com

This dress is great, the plain top and the stripe skirt go really well together. If you're not one for mixing and matching things, this dress does it for you. Pretty + comfortable in one.

A.P.C.- Denim Shirtdress
www.saksfifthavenue.com
I love denim and the shirtdress at the moment. It's a good length and you can have the sleeves down & buttoned. I'd probably go all the way and also button the dress all the way to the top and pair with some flatform sandals :-)

Kate Spade New York Women's Nashelle Flat
http://www.endless.com
These are fantastic. I love the colour, and the gold detailing on the front and the heel of the shoe.

A Wear Pretty Cable Jumper
Available off asos.com: http://www.asos.com/au/A-Wear/A-Wear-Pretty-Cable-Jumper/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2460188&cid=2637&Rf-200=3&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Blue

Love this colour!! And I'm a fan of the cable knit.

alice + olivia- Woodley Tunic
Available off Shopbop.com
Shirts! Shirts! Shirts! This is a great piece, because of the length you can wear it like this or tucked into a skirt.

Equipment- Signature Diamondback Python Blouse
Available off ShopBop.com
Python print + blue + Equipment = <3 + :-) Beautiful silk and a pretty print.

Equipment- Sleeveless Signature Blouse

Not too much to say about these. If you can- do. I'd probably pair them with some loafers and a shirt too.

Light-hearted reading.

I am a collector of cat things. I have a number of antique cats and prints, salt shakers, jewellery, books.. whatever I can get my hands on.

These are two for some light-hearted reading :-)

1) Whenever I look at this book I need to be in close proximity to my little boy- absolutely gorgeous I think i got teary when I first saw it.

All I Need to Know I Learned from My Cat: The Double Platinum Collector's Edition
2) You might notice I put Yasmine's comics up here, they are so easy to relate to if you own a cat. Definitely a cat lady- and it's so much fun.

Cat Versus Human

Happy Reading!

Polish them up!!

Nail polish. What can I say- it's a weakness & I love it! :-) I can never have too many, I think my last count was about 80ish.

If it's not really something for you, go for a lighter shade:

Yves Saint Laurent (left & centre) available off strawberrynet.com:
http://au.strawberrynet.com/makeup/yves-saint-laurent/?LineId=19378#19378
OPI (right) available off beautybay.com:  http://www.beautybay.com/cosmetics/opi/dulce-de-leche/

If you can, don't hold back and try some colour. Shades of pink, red are probably my favourite. Oxblood (centre) is a colour we have been seeing a lot lately and I think it's really versatile as a colour. Red-Orange (OPI right) is another great colour at the moment. With spring in the air- you can't go wrong.

OPI (right) available off beautybay.com: http://www.beautybay.com/cosmetics/opi/redmyfortunecookie/

After all the time you spend prepping and painting, don't forget to apply a top coat. It really does help prevent chips and the polish to last longer. Most brands make a top coat- you won't be sorry!
If you don't want to go looking for one go with the Paul & Joe top coat below- they make great nail polishes: http://www.beautybay.com/cosmetics/pauljoe/topcoat/
