My new Kindle cover!!!

Hello all! It was recently my birthday and my boyfriend gave me the Kindle Touch 3G, so of course I had to have a gorgeous case for it. It wasn't too hard, I have a few favourite designers I usually go to but I noticed that they aren't as easy to obtain as iPad cases. I was momentarily worried until I found the Kate Spade series exclusive to amazon.com.

It arrived today, kate spade new york- in Normandy Dot and it's perfect!!! Very special :-)

cat vs internet- take a look!

Hello! So I'm sitting here on me bed cross-legged looking through my favourite sites contemplating my next purchase when I am disturbed by purring. I promptly had to move my laptop for my cat, who will just sit on it anyway if it isn't moved for him:

My boyfriend Kevin walks in and tells me I have to see this page: http://theoatmeal.com/comics/cat_vs_internet

It's pretty funny, although I believe that Orlando would never put up with being ignored for more than 20 seconds. All part of having a Siamese! Had to share!

:-) Happy Weekend Everybody!

Cats Eye Sunglasses

It started as soon as I saw this image on Shopbop.com:

The Elizabeth and James Lafayette Cat Eye Sunglasses- my new favourite accessory. They aren't for the faint-hearted, and effort I believe needs to be put in to wear these gorgeous sunglasses.

If you want to try the look but you don't want something as bold, I've got a few other options below :-)

1. Elizabeth and James Women's FAIRFAX Cat Eye Sunglasses from Saksfifthavenue.com. These are a bit more of a subtle cat eye more like a wayfarer which is suited to most faces and I love the white! http://www.saksfifthavenue.com/main/ProductDetail.jsp?PRODUCT%3C%3Eprd_id=845524446399968&R=842501021524&P_name=Elizabeth+and+James&sid=138C0A85E539&Ntt=cat%27s-eye&N=0&bmUID=jyZ.CK8

2. Kate Spade New York Angelique Two-Tone Plastic Cats Eye Sunglasses from Saksfifthavenue.com. I love Kate Spade and I'm seeing this pale blue coming through now and it's fantastic.

3. Alexander McQueen Cat Eye Sunglasses from Shopbop.com. They're a great colour and I love the detail in the frames.

4. Valentino Cats Eye Sunglasses off Nordstrom.com. If you like lace this is the pair for you, very elegant and not over the top.

5. Stella McCartney Small Cat's Eye Sunglasses off Nordstrom.com. These are the definition of a subtle cat eye, with this colour even if you think you can't- you can.

They're popping up everywhere- flatforms. They make adding height pretty comfortable and much kinder to the feet which we tend to torture most of the time. So I've sifted through my usual sites and here are my some favourites!

Ganni- Nhallely Stacked Brogues. Love the colour and the almond shaped toe, available in red or blue on asos.com: http://www.asos.com/au/Ganni/Ganni-Exclusive-Nhallely-Stacked-Brogues/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2015663&SearchQuery=flatform%20shoes&sh=0&pge=5&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Blue

Gee WaWa Daphne Two-Piece Flatform

Anthropologie- City Garden Flats. The floral print on the platform on these shoes is great, I think they will look great with some beige tapered pants or a summer dress.

Denim Shirts

I bought a Michael by Michael Kors Denim Shirt at the end of last year. I often wear it either open with a simple tee or casual singlet underneath with pants or buttoned up all the way and tucked into a skirt. Either way, it brings a really relaxed approach to wearing a shirt and I'm a big fan! :-) Here are some I've found online for some options.

Shirts & Blouses

So, it looks like things are looking up and going up! Necklines that is and I love it.

Think lace, peter pan collars and beautiful prints. Here are a few of some favourites, I especially like them under a pretty cardigan now that it's winter.

The Alice + Olivia Andrea Silk Peplum Top
This would be perfect to brighten up your outfit, this print will be so versatile too! The peplum can be difficult though, so for those of you who are like me it's not as flattering if you have big hips.
Alice + Olivia - Andrea Silk Peplum Top

MARC BY MARC JACOBS Top - Lily Lace Short Sleeve Shirt

Yay! This is perfect. Lace and a peter pan collar in once :-) this shirt is fantastic. It will look great under cardigans and on it's own.

I love this slim tailored look, the scalloped collar just gives it that extra bit which is why this shirt makes the list. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Image 1 of ASOS Shirt With Scalloped Collar

This shirt is fantastic, it looks great under a cardigan and tucked into a skirt. The collar is quite big and it's really cute, it's on sale now too so snap one up while you can!

From Anthropologie- The Tulip Lace Shell Blouse: http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/clothes-blouses/24891186.jsp
In case you didn't notice, I really like white lace! :-) I'm still waiting on my equipment shirt to arrive from bluefly.com and this is so similar. It's really sweet and you could wear it with pants or skirts. White lace- you can't (really) go wrong.

What we do to our little treasures!

Wow. I was just shown this site today and Yasmin, you are awesome. I can relate to almost all of these (I only have one- but he's a Siamese so it's like having three)...

Monday, 9 July 2012

I love this knit, it's cute & easy to wear. I usually tuck it into a skirt and it's super cute. I actually bought a couple of skirts in that range which I wear with this similar to this Alannah Hill skirt:  http://shop.alannahhill.com.au/clothing/skirts-1/little-miss-prim-skirt.html   You can buy the knit online from Myer.com.au or in some stores (it was sold out in the CBD last time I went in):  http://shop.myer.com.au/shop/ProductDisplay?urlRequestType=Base&catalogId=10051&categoryId=17808&productId=96090&errorViewName=ProductDisplayErrorView&urlLangId=-1&langId=-1&top_category=17808&parent_category_rn=17808&storeId=10251
What would I do without Alannah Hill, I think I could always find something there. Actually bought some really gorgeous pieces from the outlet store in Birkenhead Point two weeks ago. Pleated skirts are so much fun. This cardigan is especially cute: http://shop.alannahhill.com.au/clothing/knitwear/don-t-jump-the-gun-cardi.html I bought something similar in red with bows :-)
Wow. This combination has won me. I love MMJ and this outfit is amazing, the dress would be great on its own too when things warm up! The knit and dress are both available on ShopBop.com which is where I buy most of my mouse shoes: http://www.shopbop.com/bobbie-sweater-marc-by-jacobs/vp/v=1/845524441942518.htm?folderID=2534374302024636&fm=other-shopbysize-brand&colorId=20335

I love the pinks, the reds and when I saw this on asos last week I bought it. I love the cable knits and it should arrive tomorrow so I'll report back (oh and it's on sale: http://www.asos.com/au/Vila/Vila-Knitted-Jumper-in-Multi-Coloured-Cable/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=1939135&SearchQuery=cable%20knit%20kumper&Rf-700=1000&Rf-400=3663&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Ravendarkpetrol)
Update: This arrived yesterday and it's pretty cute. I'd say slightly darker that in the picture below but I love it.

Anthropologie. This shop is rather special, when I was in NYC the window displays were just brilliant. I do love a good cardigan, this one is probably my favourite one on their site at the moment:
I'm more of a skirts and dresses girl and these jeans just don't do it justice. Something like this Oasis skirt on asos would be very cute:

Thoughts and questions are welcome :-) happy shopping!

My new favourite person: Ginnifer Goodwin- aka Snow White- aka Mary Margaret Blanchard.

I absolutely love the new abc show Once Upon a Time- if you haven't seen it you must!! She is gorgeous :-) totally inspired me! The shirt I went crazy looking for, finally found it on bluefly.com. It's Equipment- The Mina Lace Blouse. I'm still waiting for it to arrive- so exciting!

Here is a better shot:

The reason why I'm a cat lady.

This I took when Orlando was about 6 months old, as most seal point Siamese cats he has grown darker after 8 years but he's still perfect to me. Very talkative, very affectionate and extremely needy! It's pretty fantastic, he is a character and a half. Oh and for those of you who don't like cats, he will turn you.

Bows, bows, bows!!!!

I just had to have one, the bow belt (below). I thought it would be more pink but it's actually a darker berry colour and it's perfection. . I have been trying to find one in red (a blue red) and a decent size perhaps even a little bigger than this and in patent leather too. I'm not asking much! :-)
Image 1 of See By Chloe Pink Patent Bow Belt
I am also a fan of Marc by Marc Jacobs, in particular the mouse ballet flats. I read somewhere that ballet flats are going out, well anyone who sees these will know that is sheer madness. I have them in a few colours now and it's now very difficult to wear or want to wear anything else!!!

When I was in New York, I was mesmerized by this store. The colour, the prints, everything was just amazing.

I've been looking on their site and look at this coat!!! http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/product/clothes-jackets-outervest/24986275.jsp

Chelsea Boots- I am a fan!! http://www.asos.com/au/ASOS/ASOS-ALIBI-Suede-Chelsea-Ankle-Boots/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2131704

I ended up buying them in black though, mainly so I can wear them if it's raining a little- I can be practical sometimes..

Update: They arrived yesterday and I love them. Super comfortable and I think they will be very easy to wear :-)

All that glitters...

It looks great on its own and over another colour because it's quite sheer it works.

And this is also off one of my favourite websites! www.asos.com -amazing.

In case you were wondering I'm in Sydney, Australia. One of the people who convinced me that this was a good idea is a new colleague at work. He has just moved back to Sydney and wanted to take his wife shopping (I mostly buy online and I'll post some links to my favourite sites soon) so he got me talking.

For clothing you really can't go past the major department stores like David Jones for the concession stores like Alannah Hill and Myer for Hi There by Karen Walker. I'm also a huge fan of Cue and Veronika Maine, I worked for them during my last two years at uni and the quality of the products is great. But it really depends on what you are looking for. If you have something that you are after, let me know I'm sure I can help!

Where did it all start? I've always loved shopping, but one of my first favourites is Michael Kors. It started with the perfume, Michael. After my first trip to NYC I found my favourite black patent tote- the Hamilton. It was perfect- not heavy and such a great size. Since then, I've purchased wallets, handbags and a number of shoes and I love them all.

Ladies, he is a must. For everyday wear and when you need something special. Michael always cheers me up: http://www.michaelkors.com/

In particular, these are my favourites. If you have some time have a look and let me know what you think!

I was never one for tan leather, until I bought a handbag in this colour last year. It amazes me how much it goes with everything! This one I adore. There's something about this woven leather and in this colour, it's perfect: http://www.michaelkors.com/p/MICHAEL-Michael-Kors-MICHAEL-Michael-Kors-Hamilton-Large-Woven-Tote-VIEW-ALL-HANDBAGS/prod15990020_cat3003_cat8501_/?index=0&cmCat=cat000000cat8501cat3003&isEditorial=false

There's something about this colour & in saffiano leather- you can't go wrong: http://www.michaelkors.com/p/MICHAEL-Michael-Kors-MICHAEL-Michael-Kors-Hamilton-Large-Tote-VIEW-ALL-HANDBAGS/prod15990015_cat3003_cat8501_/?index=11&cmCat=cat000000cat8501cat3003&isEditorial=false

I was so disappointed when I was in NYC in December last year and the Ostrich embossed leather handbags were not in stores yet. Just amazing: http://www.michaelkors.com/p/Michael-Kors-Michael-Kors-Gia-Ostrich-Embossed-Satchel-VIEW-ALL-HANDBAGS/prod16160009_cat3003_cat8501_/?index=26&cmCat=cat000000cat8501cat3003&isEditorial=false

meeeow! aka- the first step.

First of all, I have to introduce my gorgeous little boy Orlando Bloom. This blog is dedicated to the three things I love most- cats.clothes.colour. Welcome!!! :-)
